Concept art sits in one folder, the reference board in a second tool, the asset list in a spreadsheet and the milestone plan in a third place. By the time an asset is questioned in review, the reasoning behind it is three tools away. Ceyu puts the visual material and the production plan on the same canvas, so the reference that justified a decision is next to the task that delivers it.
A reference board is only useful if it can hold the actual material. Ceyu reads the formats art production runs on, rather than asking for flattened screenshots of them.
Concept art, animation clips, style sheets and 3D models sit side by side on the same infinite surface, at the size you need to actually judge them.
Frames group a region of the canvas and can be presented one after another, so the same board is both the working surface and the walkthrough you show the team.
Custom fields let a task carry the things a spreadsheet was tracking: asset type, LOD, owner, engine status. Statuses and their colours are yours to define rather than a fixed three-column board.
The Gantt view carries dependencies and milestones, so a slipped blockout shows up against the vertical slice date instead of surfacing in the next stand-up.
Comment threads attach to the board object they are about. A note on a character silhouette stays on that silhouette rather than becoming message 40 in a channel.
Boards are stored locally first. A studio machine that is off the network, or on a segregated one, keeps working, and syncs when you decide it should.
Ceyu is not a version control system for binary assets and it does not replace Perforce or Git LFS. It does not hook into your engine, and there is no build pipeline inside it. It is the layer above that: where the visual decisions get made, argued about and turned into a plan.
Take a single feature or a single character through the canvas and the plan. That is a fair test, and the free plan is enough to run it.
