About Ceyu
Ceyu is an infinite whiteboard and a planning suite that share one workspace. It is made by Arcway, a company in Achstetten, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
It is built for people who make things and then have to deliver them: agencies, game studios and in-house design teams, and the designers, producers, project managers and studio owners who keep that work moving. The material is visual, but the delivery still has a date, a budget and a client attached.
Why the two halves are one product
Most teams draw the plan in one tool and then run it in another. The drawing goes stale within a week, because keeping it current means doing the work twice. Ceyu exists because that gap is not a workflow problem. It is a product boundary that should not have been there.
The practical consequence is a single subscription instead of two, priced per user, and a board that can turn into tasks without leaving the workspace. Select something on the canvas and it becomes a task in the project attached to that board, keeping a reference back to where it came from — so the plan is derived from the material rather than typed out again somewhere else.
What it covers
On the canvas: images, video, PDFs and 3D models in GLB and GLTF, with boards importable from Miro, FigJam, Mural and Excalidraw. Feedback happens on the artwork itself — a comment thread can be pinned to a specific object rather than floating beside it, and people editing at the same time see each other's cursors.
On the delivery side: tasks in five views, a Gantt chart with dependencies, a critical path and milestones, capacity planning, time tracking with a timer that pauses when the machine goes idle, expenses with receipts, and reporting on hours that roll up per task, project, person and customer.
Where a dependency makes a date impossible, the schedule says so rather than accepting it quietly. That is the general habit across the product: show the constraint instead of papering over it.
Local-first, and what that costs us
Your files live on your device first and sync from there. Boards stay fully editable offline — a working copy, not a read-only cache. That means Ceyu works on a plane, and it means a server outage does not take your work with it. When sync is switched on it is end-to-end encrypted, and the key is generated on your device and never sent to the server.
It also has a price, and it is only fair to name it. Features that assume a central server, such as heavy server-side search across everything or some kinds of admin reporting, are harder to build this way, and some arrive later than they would otherwise. That is a trade we made deliberately, not a gap we have not noticed.
