The canvas has no page boundary. That is useful right up to the point where you cannot find anything, which is what frames, pins and grouping are for.
Twenty-three of them: rectangles and rounded rectangles, ellipses, diamonds, triangles, stars, pentagons, hexagons, octagons, parallelograms, trapezoids, arrows in several forms, chevrons, crosses, clouds, hearts, speech bubbles and banners. Each takes a fill, a stroke style (solid, dashed, dotted or none) and text inside it.
Straight, curved and elbow connectors, with or without arrowheads. A connector attached to an object follows it when the object moves, which is what makes a board hold a flow rather than a frozen diagram.
Sticky notes come in six colours — white, yellow, blue, green, pink and black. Free text supports alignment, weight and italics, and a text box can either grow with its content or hold a fixed size when the layout matters more than the words.
Insert a grid of cells directly on the canvas. Useful for a comparison matrix or a checklist that does not deserve to become a project.
A card is an object with a title and a status chip, for when a region of the board needs to be labelled. A group binds several objects so they move, scale and collapse as one.
A frame is a named region. Everything inside moves with it, and frames can be stepped through in presentation mode — which is how a board becomes a review without exporting slides.
A pin bookmarks a camera position. Open the pins panel to jump between them, or chain them into a presentation path. On a board with a thousand objects this is the difference between navigating and searching.
The pen tool draws straight onto the board — for redlining a layout, sketching over a blockout, or circling the thing everyone keeps missing. Strokes are objects like any other and can be moved, restyled or deleted.
On very large boards
Only what is on screen is rendered, and images are loaded at the resolution the current zoom actually needs. A board with thousands of high-resolution images stays usable, but the first load of a region you have never visited will fetch its assets.
